If you’re looking forward to seeing the movie Julie & Julia when it opens this Friday, or even if you’ve only read the book…or if you’re just a lover of great cuisine, as we are…we invite you to join us on a culinary adventure that will bring the tastes of classic French cooking to you without all the hard work Julia Powell went through to replicate it!
In honor of Julia Child, and to help bring the concept of true bistro cuisine to our patrons, Bistro 185 will feature a recipe from one of Julia’s many cookbooks every evening for the next eight weeks.
We hope to introduce our guests to the flavors and food experiences that Julia was so passionate about, from simply prepared items to more elaborate presentations. We will announce our weekly Julia menu every Monday, along with information on the cookbook from which it came.
The experiment begins with dinner Monday, August 3, as we feature the very same dish with which Julia Powell began her efforts, Potage Parmentiere, Leek and Potato Soup, from Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Volume 1.
Please join us in this very exciting project by making reservations to visit us at Bistro 185 — and follow our kitchen journey here in our blog.
